There’s no shortage of information out there about how to keep yourself safe and healthy while the COVID-19 virus is spreading. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (cdc.gov) is the best source for accurate information regarding the virus. Taking a financial view of the situation, it is important for you to plan ahead in case you become ill or have an injury of any kind. Here are a few of our recommendations:
- Be sure to sign up for online banking and/or have the Credit Union’s mobile app on your phone. You can keep up with your finances, deposit checks, apply for loans, and more from the comfort of your home.
- Have a minimum of two weeks’ salary in savings in case you need to stay home to care for yourself or a family member.
- Save your PTO! Don’t use your PTO for a vacation right now. If you get sick, having paid time off will be invaluable.
