When did you start working at Ironworkers USA Credit Union?

I started in June 2008, right before the recession hit.

Why did you want to work at Ironworkers USA Credit Union?

I had a previous co-worker that worked at the credit union and recruited me to come over, and I jumped at the chance. I’d been in banking for about 20 years, but this was my first credit union. And once I learned the difference, there was no going back!!

Tell us a little about yourself.

I have been married for 32 years and have two wonderful sons, but no grandkids yet. We always have had pets, and right now, we have two dogs and three cats who drive me wonderfully crazy! I was born in South Dakota, but I have lived in Seattle since I was 2, so this is home.  The great Northwest has so much to offer-why live anywhere else? I graduated high school from Chief Sealth in 1982, which is in West Seattle.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Our family loves to go camping. We take the dogs and occasionally a cat. We have had travel trailers for 30 years and have gone as far as South Dakota with them.

Where is your favorite place to vacation or visit?

My favorite place to camp is at the beach, and if it’s stormy, all the better. We have also taken two cruises to Mexico and have stayed in New Orleans which is bursting with culture and exciting human experience.

What is special about the Credit Union?

Ironworkers USA Credit Union has given me huge opportunities to grow personally and professionally. We handle all of our own underwriting, which helps us know our members beyond just their names. We get to know them well, which helps us serve them well and anticipate their needs. They are a very diverse group, which I grew up around, and I enjoy every day being different and never boring. I enjoy being part of the Ironworker family, and it is very gratifying to experience the evolving needs of each and every one. I am grateful for their friendship.
