Bob – Retired Ironworker, CU Member since 1978

It’s been more than 40 years since Bob joined the Ironworkers Credit Union, but from the beginning, he understood that this was a financial institution that really understood him.

“They’ve had great people from the start,” says Bob. His first experiences at the Credit Union included working with Alice Denny, the Credit Union’s first paid staff member and manager from 1965 to 1985.

“I had the privilege of working with Alice,” recalls Bob. “She was a great lady. You could go and talk to her face-to-face. She had a policy that they would loan any Ironworker $1,000 just on their signature. That was unheard, but that’s what they did because they believed in the people they were serving.”

Bob says there are too many people to single out for their excellent service. “They’ve had great representatives and great managers over the years. And Teri has certainly done a great, great job.”

So what makes Ironworkers USA Credit Union unique? “I feel very comfortable working with the Credit Union because they understand me a lot better than a bank does or a credit card company or any financial institution,” explains Bob.

Bob is now retired from his Ironworker career, but having worked in many Locals in California and across the country, he’s a true Credit Union advocate. “I try to let people know about the Credit Union, and I would recommend it to anyone who is qualified to join!” Thanks, Bob!
