Lonny – Local 14 Retired, Spokane

Lonny was one of the first Ironworkers who became a Credit Union member when a branch was opened in Spokane’s Local 14 office many, many years ago. A Union Ironworker for 52 years, Lonny has happily used a myriad of Credit Union loans and services throughout his career and into retirement.

“They were always there for me when I needed to finance a fancy horse trailer, a big diesel puller or even a national championship show horse,” says Lonny, who, in addition to being a Union Ironworker, won eight Appaloosa world championship titles, a Canadian national championship, and was on the board of directors for the international Appaloosa Horse Club in Moscow, Idaho.

While he’s enjoying retirement now, throughout his career, Lonny worked as an Ironworker all over the world, including Canada, the North Sea and even Saudi Arabia. Wherever he went, the Credit Union was with him. “Barbara [a former Spokane member representative] was instrumental in my being and staying a credit union member,” recalls Lonny, “but Tina is exceptional. You couldn’t ask for a better person in the Spokane office. She has always helped me with any major or minor thing I’ve needed. She is one of the most valued employees the Credit Union has!”

From buying “big fancy horse trailers” to obtaining loans to pay off medical bills, Lonny appreciates the excellent service he’s received throughout the years, and we appreciate the trust and loyalty Lonny has given us!
