Team Member Spotlight
Jaimie G. – COO

When did you start working at Ironworkers USA Credit Union?
I started working in December of 2021 and have been in the financial industry for 22 years – 12 of those with credit unions.

Why did you want to work at Ironworkers USA Credit Union?
I wanted to work for Ironworkers USA Credit Union because I could see the powerful impact of the work they were doing and how they were helping their members. I am very passionate about the credit union movement and staying true to the roots of why credit unions were founded. Ironworkers USA Credit Union lives those values every day. I also wanted to be a part of their dynamic and fun team that shares the same passion I do in regard to helping people.

Tell us a little about yourself. (Interests, funny stories, hobbies)
Something unique about me is that I have a twin sister. Some of my hobbies include painting, writing, and reading, although I don’t get to do them very often.

What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time, I like to spend as much time as I can with my 13-year-old son Thomas (or as much time as he will let me) and taking him to mixed martial arts and basketball games. I also run a nonprofit cat shelter called “Furry Friends” in Vancouver, Washington where we help over 500 homeless, abandoned, and injured cats in the community each year.

Where is your favorite place to vacation or travel?
My favorite place to vacation as a family is at the local beaches, I like how calm it is to be around the ocean and just slow life down a little bit.

What is special about the Credit Union?
What I think is special about Ironworkers USA Credit Union is how caring and compassionate the employees are. Everyone who works at the credit union really has a passion to help people and it is evident in the work they do every day.

If you could choose one song to play every time you walked into a room, what would you choose and why?
If I could choose one song to play every time I walked into a room, I think it would be “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen because I have good memories of karaoke with friends and that puts me in a good mood.

If you could have any superhero power, what would it be and why?
If I could have any superhero power, it would the power to heal the sick because who wouldn’t want to help people who needed it the most if they could?

Thanks Jaimie for being such an amazing part of this team! We can’t do it without you!
