Edward – Local 263

About a year ago, a coworker was showing off his Ironworkers USA Credit Union debit card, and Edward started asking questions about the bank. Since he was based in Texas with Local 263, he didn’t know there was a credit union dedicated to Ironworkers.

After checking it out online and doing some research, Edward opened up a direct deposit account with Ironworkers USA Credit Union. He was a little concerned there wasn’t a local branch near him but decided to give the credit union “a shot.” Edward had heard that credit unions typically offer more personalized service and benefits, plus Ironworkers USA Credit Union was part of the union after all and made just for ironworkers.

The credit union proved its reputation to Edward this past year when he reached out to the Portland branch asking about a personal loan.

“They listened to my situation and gave me better options because they understood what was going to help me more,” Edward said. “Sometimes it’s not about giving the customer what they want, but helping the customer with what they need.”

After counseling from the branch, Edward decided to open a credit card instead so he could have an open line of credit to pay back and reuse over time or in case of future emergencies.

“They have surely gone out of their way to take care of my finances and family in times of need,” Edward said.

Ironworkers USA Credit Union continues to guide Edward in his finances. Recently, he set up another direct deposit account to keep his corporate reimbursement separate from his payroll account after getting more advice from the Portland branch.

“Whenever I call, I get a live person. I don’t have to fight an automated service. I get someone who is familiar with my account and seems to genuinely care I’m happy with the customer service I receive. It’s real people. I now have multiple accounts and trust them explicitly to be my bank of choice.” Edward said.

Edward wants other Ironworkers to know he’s happy he took a chance on the credit union.

“I’m sure there’s more I could say, but don’t take my word for it,” Edward said. “If you don’t have an account with Ironworkers USA Credit Union, you are truly missing out on a great bank.”
