OUR CEO, TERI ROBINSON, WINS NATIONAL AWARD BY PUTTING IRONWORKERS FIRST
We’re beyond excited to share that Teri Robinson, our incredible CEO, has been awarded the prestigious Herb Wegner Memorial Award for Outstanding Achievement! This is the highest honor in the credit union world, recognizing leaders who truly make a difference. Teri will receive this award at a special event on March 3, 2025, in Washington, D.C.
Since Teri joined Ironworkers USA Credit Union in 2009 and becoming CEO in 2010, she’s helped us grow into a strong credit union, offering our members more services and stability. She’s taken us from $7.5 million to $127 million in assets and tripled our membership to over 15,500. More importantly, she’s made sure we’re always there for you, our members, whether to help improve credit scores, share budgeting tips, or just solve everyday financial challenges.
“We are truly making a difference daily in uplifting Ironworkers who may not have opportunities in the traditional banking environment. We love helping them solve a puzzle and, one day, achieve financial freedom—whether that means not worrying about rent, going on a family vacation, or saving for Retirement. We believe in giving chances and trusting that people want to do the right thing each day.”
Teri’s passion doesn’t stop here. Not only is she personally there for all our members (known to be available 24/7), but she mentors other credit union leaders, supports smaller credit unions, runs apprentice classes, and even volunteers to teach women inmates about budgeting and credit. Her strong belief in “people helping people” drives everything she does.
Teri expressed gratitude for the nomination and, as always, remains focused on you, our members. “Our growth represents more than a number; it shows how we connected with real people and made their lives better,” she said. “How’d we do that? Well, we listen to our members. We take the time to understand what’s happening in their lives and build our services around their needs. They know we care and are always there for them, just like a family.”
Teri perfectly embodies the commonly held belief in our industry that ‘together we are stronger.’ Please join us in congratulating her on this amazing honor!
